The Rangers have made Scottish football history on the way to their thrilling march to the Europa League in the Round of 32.

Steven Gerrard’s team has become the first team on these shores to sail a full six-game group stage campaign without losing.

A host of sides have come close, but the ’20 Ibrox class is the first to pull off the impressive feat.

And the Rangers finished with 14 points and that’s another Scottish record that is one point better than the total the Hoops achieved last season as they finished top of their group.

Gerrard is enjoying the brilliance of another impressive campaign as his team defeated Standard Liege and Lech Poznan at home and away to draw two with Benfica.

And that’s the first time the Rangers have won a six-team group stage in 10 attempts with Paul Le Guen’s triumph in the old four-game format.

Former Ibrox star Neil McCann is convinced the current Rangers team is capable of replicating Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic and going a full season undefeated in Scotland.

He said, “They’re going to take some stops nationwide.

“Absolutely (I think they can go undefeated), I think they are creating a fear factor, they are a really intimidating team to play against, with the way they work.”
