The Brexit deal between the UK and the European Union will go into effect on Friday, but how will that affect you?

Can I travel to the Republic of Ireland?
The Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland avoids a strict border on the island, while the Common Travel Zone, which allows citizens of the United Kingdom and Ireland to move freely to live, work and study in the two jurisdictions, will continue.
Cross-border buses and rail transport services will continue to be available.
What about trips to continental European countries?
You will need to have at least six months on an adult or child passport to travel to most countries in Europe, but this does not include the Republic of Ireland.
You will need to renew your passport before traveling if you do not have enough time left on your passport.
British passport holders will no longer be able to use the EU passport queue at airports and borders.
Will I be charged when I use my mobile phone abroad?
Free data roaming for mobile phones will end, but UK customers may notice little change.
The top four UK providers – EE, O2, Vodafone and Three – have said they have no plans to reintroduce roaming charges.
Will my European health card still work?
All cards issued before the end of 2020 will be valid, but only until their expiration date.
The UK will issue a new card called the Global Health Insurance Card which, like the European Health Insurance Card, covers chronic or existing illnesses and routine maternity care as well as emergencies.
What happens if I send a package to an EU country?
People shipping a package from Northern Ireland to somewhere in the EU do not need to attach a customs declaration form, but one will still be required for packages going to destinations outside the EU.
What about fishing in Northern Ireland?
The UK will regain 25% of the EU catches over the next five and a half years, and after that it will have full control of its waters.
Northern Ireland will be included in all trade agreements that take place in the UK generally.
Can my company continue to trade with Irish companies?
As of this Friday, the United Kingdom will no longer be part of the single market and the EU customs union. However, this does not apply to Northern Ireland.
The Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland means that Northern Ireland is legally part of the customs territory of the United Kingdom, but is subject to certain provisions of EU law.
According to the Protocol, no new checks or checks will be applied to goods moving between Ireland and Northern Ireland in either direction.
However, goods from Great Britain will be checked at our ports.
Will duty-free return?
People traveling to Ireland from Great Britain and vice versa will be able to purchase duty-free alcohol, tobacco and perfumes at airports and ports from Friday.
