Ongoing delays for some
While many pre-order customers have started receiving their consoles, it appears that many won’t be getting their PS5 today.
The issue appears to be affecting customers who pre-ordered their console through GAME, with many receiving an email stating that “not all orders that were to be delivered will be delivered on launch day.”
The email reads: “Due to the volume of the PlayStation 5 in the UK market and the size of the product, the launch has created delivery challenges across the UK for all retailers and couriers.
“Our goal has always been to ensure that as many orders as possible arrive on time for launch day, so we have had to secure multiple couriers to help try and achieve this.
“However, for reasons beyond GAME’s control, YODEL informed us today (November 18) that not all orders that must be delivered will be delivered on launch day.
“This is due to capacity issues between the distribution network and may mean that their tracking information is not fully updated until Friday.”
Meanwhile, some Amazon customers have also reported delays in their PS5 orders.
An Amazon customer sent Mirror Online a screenshot of their delivery notes, after receiving an update at 07:29 this morning that their delivery had been delayed “due to external factors.”
Another said: “My son’s PS5 will also be delayed. This was ordered 1 minute after the pre-orders went live. I was in the Amazon customer service chat for an hour and a half and they just said “wait until Sunday and if it doesn’t come contact us”.
