Princes Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their first child, a son, Buckingham Palace announced.
The baby was born at the Portland Hospital in London at 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, the same hospital where the Duchess of Sussex gave birth to her baby, Archie.
Eugenie’s son weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz.
The palace said Brooksbank was by Eugenie’s side during the delivery and that both mother and child are “fine.”
The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke of York, Sarah, the Duchess of York, and Mr. and Mrs. George Brooksbank have all been informed and are “delighted.”
The royal baby is the queen’s ninth great-grandson.
The new parents announced the birth on Eugenie’s Instagram account, where she posted a photo of her hands cradling her baby’s tiny fingers and wrist.
He captioned it with blue hearts and exclamation marks.
The baby is 11th in line to the throne, and his birth means that the Queen and Philip’s youngest son, the Earl of Wessex, who was third in line when he was born in 1964, has dropped to 12th in line. of succession.
The baby will be Master Brooksbank and will not have a SAR title unless the Queen steps in to grant Mr. Brooksbank a county or issue a Patent of Letters, which is believed to be unlikely.
Eugenie, 30, announced her pregnancy in September, almost two years after marrying Brooksbank, who is the European brand director for Casamigos Tequila, co-founded by actor George Clooney.
