Prince Harry is “upset” at not being able to fly from the United States to join his family at Balmoral on his annual summer trip, it has been claimed.
Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived with their children at the royal estate in Aberdeenshire on Friday, where they saw the queen and Prince Philip for the first time in months.
But while the Duke of Sussex is understood to be “frustrated” at being stuck in California due to the coronavirus pandemic, wife Meghan Markle is happier.
“[She] It doesn’t feel like it’s missing out, “a source told InTouch Weekly.
“She’s been too busy decorating her new Montecito mansion.”
In March, the Sussexes accepted an invitation to the Highland Castle for the late-summer reunion, but Covid-19 hindered their plans, The Sunday Times previously reported.
It comes after news that 35-year-old Harry will miss out on the prominent King Power Royal Charity Polo Day in late September.
He and William, 38, have participated in the event, which raises millions for charity, for the past 15 years.
Harry’s absence has further fueled rumors of a breakup between the two brothers.
However, on Saturday, in a Zoom call to mark the Rugby League’s 125th birthday, the Duke said only the coronavirus has prevented him from returning to the UK.
In the Zoom quiz from players, coaches and volunteers from the sport, he also promised to fly home for the Rugby League World Cup next year.
Speaking from his Santa Barbara mansion, the Duke of Sussex said: “We have a Rugby League world cup next year.
“I definitely plan to return. I would have already returned if it hadn’t been for Covid.”
Harry and Meghan’s move to their £ 11.1 million nine-bed pillow in Montecito, Santa Barbara, saw them take out a £ 7.25 million mortgage after getting financial help from Prince Charles.
The property also includes a library, cinema, gym, spa and sauna, as well as 16 bathrooms.
A source told InTouch Weekly that Harry prefers his new neighborhood to Los Angeles, where the couple initially lived upon arriving in the US.
“Harry doesn’t know the area well, but so far so good,” said the source.
“Santa Barbara is more of his scene than LA … He has the freedom and space he needs. Harry was extremely unhappy in LA”
