Clooney, 59, and Amal Clooney, 42, were two of 600 guests who saw Harry and Meghan marry at St. George’s Cathedral in 2018. But Rachel Johnson, sister of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said the couple told Princess Diana’s friend Carolyn Bartholomew they didn’t know the Sussexes.
Ms. Johnson wrote about Clooney’s shocking confession on the AirMail website, as well as stating that the Sussex wedding stars could not have been close friends.
She said: “In 2018, there was an eye-catching royal wedding filled with celebrities who couldn’t possibly be dear old friends of the bridal couple.
Oprah, Posh and Becks, James Corden, et al., Attended Harry and Meghan’s nuptials, and there is a story going around that while Carolyn Bartholomew, Diana’s ex-roommate, was Waiting for the wedding service to begin, she turned to the couple next to her and asked how they knew Harry or Meghan.
“‘We don’t,’ replied the Clooneys cheerfully.”

Mr. and Mrs. Clooney got seats alongside Lady Carolyn Warren, the wife of the Queen’s blood advisor, John Warren, and opposite Princess Margaret’s son, Viscount Linley.
Accounts from those attending the ceremony claimed that the Hollywood star was well received at the wedding and danced with Meghan and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Reports of OK! The magazine has claimed that Harry has turned to Clooney for advice on living in Los Angeles, after the Duke and Duchess parted ways with their royal duties earlier this year.
A source close to the Duke told the magazine that Harry regards the star as an “older brother figure”, adding: “Harry is grateful to have him in his corner.”

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote in their biography of the Sussexes, ‘Finding Freedom’, that royals have become firm friends with the Clooney.
According to the book, Meghan and Harry were twice invited to Clooney’s British home in Sonning, Oxfordshire.
The book also claimed that the Sussexes spent time on the property’s lake, where the Clooneys “had a secluded terrace area and inside was a living room decorated with traditional wood paneling, heavy drapes, dark velvets, plush chairs and a bar”.

Finding Freedom also said the Hollywood couple invited Harry and Meghan to Lake Como just weeks after the royal wedding.
A source close to the Sussexes told the authors: “Meghan and Amal spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool and playing with the twins while George and Harry checked the motorcycle collection.
Harry took one of them out with one of his protection officers. George was in an accident recently, so he still hadn’t gotten back on his bike. ”
“The Duke and Duchess weren’t the only guests that weekend. Eugenie and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, were already at the villa when Harry and Meghan arrived, and their visits briefly overlapped. “

Clooney has also come out in support of Meghan, stating that constant attention to the Duchess is similar to how Diana was treated.
He added: “They are just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere; it has been persecuted and vilified.
“She is a woman who is seven months pregnant, and she has been persecuted, vilified and persecuted in the same way as Diana, and her story repeats itself.
“We have seen how that ends.”
