- Again he lashed out at voting by mail that warned that ‘you could be a victim of fraud’
- The latest polls show Biden, 77, ahead in the race for the White House. An Ipsos poll yesterday had Biden leading by eight points
US President Donald Trump cast his vote yesterday, jokingly saying that he “voted for a guy named Trump.”
The 74-year-old, who previously described voting by mail as corrupt, went to the Palm Beach County Main Library and left saying, ‘It was a very safe vote. Everything was perfect.’
However, he again lashed out at voting by mail, warning that “it could be the victim of fraud and cost me the elections,” adding: “You cannot have security like this with votes by mail.”
Just days after appearing to have taken her hand from Trump’s palm after Thursday’s televised presidential debate, First Lady Melania was notably absent from the Florida trip.
A White House spokesman said he “had no idea” when he would vote.
Florida is one of many states that have opened to early voting in person due to the pandemic and Trump is among the millions of Americans who already voted before the Nov.3 election.
More than 85 million mail-in ballots have been requested, with 46 percent of those planning to vote for Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
The latest polls show Biden, 77, ahead in the race for the White House. An Ipsos poll yesterday put Biden ahead by eight points.
Facing defeat, Trump went on a whirlwind tour of the battlefield states. He told a cheering crowd in Lumberton, North Carolina: ‘The polls are so wrong. We’re going to have four more years. ‘
Citing inaccurate polls during the last election in 2016, he added defiantly: ‘They showed me losing last time. I apologized to my wife saying, “I’m not used to losing.” So I won. Now the polls are much closer. They have all been wrong.
Trump, who spent three days in the hospital after contracting the coronavirus, also revealed that his 14-year-old son Barron tested positive for Covid before testing negative ’15 minutes later, ‘adding:’ He has a very strong immune system. ‘.
Meanwhile, Good Morning Britain host and Mail on Sunday columnist Piers Morgan appears to have healed his break with Trump, tweeting yesterday that they had enjoyed a 25-minute phone call.
His last words? “Piers, I’m going to win,” Morgan tweeted.
