Plans to restart the Premier League project could face delays of at least a week after meetings with players and coaches today.

Reports in numerous national newspapers stated that the club captains expressed their concern for the safety of the players and sought more guarantees.

It now appears that the expected return date for June 12 could be delayed by a week as the Premier League seeks to remove the last hurdle in the way of plans to launch high-level soccer.

According to the Mirror, Troy Deeney of Watford and Mark Noble of West Ham were two who expressed doubts about whether the Premier League could be restarted.

The video conference was said to last more than two hours as players searched for more information on what a return to training and action might look like. Players on the call joined their managers, as well as Premier League medical officer Mark Gillett and Government medical expert Dr. Jonathan Van-Tam.

Now it will be up to the club captains to pass the information on to their teammates. More talks are expected this Thursday before Premier League shareholders meet again on Monday.
