Predictions of the Premier League of three top-flight matches

We are backing up a lot of Premier League goals in the last weekend before the international break.

Our betting tips this week begin in Merseyside, where Everton are looking to get back on the winning track after two losses in a row.

Everton vs Man Utd, Saturday 12.30 pm (BT Sport 1)

How do you solve a problem like United?

Well, until Wednesday the solution was simply to get them out of Old Trafford.

Ole’s men have been pretty gruesome at home this season, falling to defeat in three of their first four home games, including a sad 1-0 loss to Arsenal last weekend.

Nice work, they’re just lowering the M62 by this time.

After a good start, Carlo Ancelloti’s men have failed since the Merseyside derby draw and are reaching this one after back-to-back defeats.

However, unlike United, they have been excellent at home this season, scoring 18 in five games in all competitions.

Paul Scholes suggested that the players were ‘scared’ of attacking at Old Trafford, which seems like a probability considering no one is there at the moment.

Jordan Pickford is back for this game and it will be interesting to see if England’s stopper time on the sidelines eliminates the mistakes.

United have not won in their last three against Everton and we hope that Ancelotti’s team is prepared for this.

James Rodriguez should also be back from his – ahem – knight injury, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his twelfth goal in 12 games against Toon.

As always with United this season, avoid the results market at all costs.

They are honestly a complete mystery and, as they proved in Europe this week.

They could activate the style at any time or defend like that.

7/5 in an away win is a very high price and take it if you want, but we warn you.

But we will support both teams to score on 4/7, as well as having a play on each side to score. BOTH OF THEM halves.

That’s a massive 10/1 and with these defenses, and these attacks, he could be a big winner early Saturday.

The last two meetings between the two sides have ended 1-1, while Everton on that streak of 18 goals in five games has also leaked seven at the other end.

Anthony Martial is back in top-level action from suspension this weekend and has a 15/8 record at the net at any time.

The Frenchman’s red card against Spurs was the catalyst for his team’s capitulation in that one and he will be keen to make amends after showing good form in European competition.

Man City vs Liverpool, Sunday 16:30 (Sky Sports)

It was not the start that Manchester City or Pep Guardiola expected.

A new season, a new beginning and the opportunity to push Liverpool out of the position they so emphatically took last season.

Or so we think.

Currently City are 10th in the table with three wins in their first six games, and five points behind the pace.

The Reds come looking for a third win in a row and appear to have gotten over their shock blow in which they were thrashed at Aston Villa and tied with Everton.

Both teams had beautiful midweek wins in the Champions League, but so did Man Utd last week, and we all know how that turned out.

The city has a high chance of winning this one, which we can’t quite figure out.

7

Yes, they have won the last three Premier League meetings with Liverpool at the Etihad with a total of 11-1.

But with no crowd and Leicester has already exposed its weaknesses at the rear, we don’t see Pep’s side as endorsed merchandise on Sunday.

Instead, it seems that goals are the way to play in this match.

Liverpool have the second worst goals against the column in the division and yet they remain the first.

Diogo Jota is averaging a goal every 40 minutes in a Reds jersey and we can’t see Klopp’s men go blank like they did in the 4-0 humiliation here last season.

City are without Sergio Agüero but Gabriel Jesús looked very sharp when he returned to Olympiacos in the middle of the week.

He can only get 1/2 in over 2.5 goals and that’s good enough to add to his accumulators, but we see him as a banker.

A much better bet is 4/6 for Man City to score two or more.

He’s been a winner in six of the last eight H2Hs at Eastlands, and without Virgil Van Dijk, the Reds just don’t have the quiet presence at the back to keep City completely at bay.

Jesus is a great price to score in a possible Premier League comeback at 6/4, but wait for the teams before making any goalscorer bets.

We are a huge Raheem Sterling fan to pack up against his old club, just like he did last season.

He already has two league goals this term and 8/5, so £ 26 back for his ten is too high a price to turn down.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa, Sunday 7.15pm (Sky Sports box office)

He whispers, but things seem to be going well for Mikel Arteta.

It was not pretty, but his team achieved a great victory at Manchester United last weekend, only their second victory at Old Trafford in 14 years.

The Gunners lost to Leicester the last time they were at the Emirates, a result that ended an unbeaten 2020 at home.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa comes in after two losses, and their early season promise is now starting to evaporate.

Dean Smith’s team has not found the attacking fluidity it displayed so ruthlessly against Liverpool and the Foxes, and have lost in their last four visits to North London.

It would be typical for Arsenal to go and lose this, especially after such a big win.

7

But we are going to rely on the home team this week as 4/6 is a great price for them to condemn Villa to a third loss in a row.

They’re a work in progress, but Thomas Partey has offered a steel and calm to the Gunners midfield that made comparisons to Patrick Vieira this week.

We have it in our 5-A-Side team.

Arsenal will need to win the midfield battle, stifling Villa’s creativity in the process, and we support them to get the job done Sunday night.

Of course, things are never easy with Arsenal and they have conceded in all their home games this season.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see them do it again, especially since Villa hasn’t been blank on his travels either.

So with that in mind, back Arsenal to win, but with both teams to score at a gigantic price tag of 11/5.

Bukayo Saka was named this week as one of the ten most valuable footballers in world football.

The 19-year-old has entered the England squad and is an exciting talent, combining hard work defensively with breakneck speed on the counter.

He has a goal in him too, just ask Sheffield United.

Many of you will be in Aubameyang to get the net for the second week in a row on 4/5, but we are looking for value here.

Saka is a great 9/2 anytime, 14/1 to score the first goal.

He did exactly that against the Blades, it’s worth playing.
