Thousands of people are expected to attend illegal New Years Eve raves in London despite the threat of £ 10,000 fines.
Police disbanded 60 partygoers after they were called to an unlicensed music event on Kemp Road, Chadwell Heath tonight.
Police said they dispersed the crowd and handed a £ 10,000 fine to the rave organizer.
In a tweet, Barking and Dagenham police said: “We take the lives of everyone who lives in our communities seriously. We only intend to protect our communities and operate within Covid Tier 4 Legal Guidelines. Please help us help you, stay home, stay safe this New Year. “

It came about when organizers announced events on social media where party-goers are promised a party at a secret location.
Those wishing to attend must follow an Instagram account and provide proof of identification in private messages before they are sold a ticket and told where to go. One of the biggest parties planned for tonight, known as the Good Vibez rave.
The organizers promise that the event will take place in a covered outdoor location.
Headlining the event according to the online flyer is Mutant with a garage set following the music of Mark H Nostalgic, Myro and Casper. It is unclear if the acts are intended to perform live or even if they know their names are tied to the party.
Another party in the capital was touted as ‘Good riddance 2020 NYE Special’ while a group known as Sunday Afters has been advertising illegal £ 30 rave tickets.
Organizers calling themselves Vox Sound announced an ‘Acid in Wonderland New Years Secret Rave’ on Instagram.
In a later post he said, “We can’t have fun this year, so we’ll do exactly that.”
Many rave organizers have stopped advertising on social media because the high profile allows police to track them down and shut down events.
The Metropolitan Police warned revelers to stay home and deployed additional officers to patrol the capital to catch those who break the rules.
