Police name man killed in A483 crash as family says they are ‘deeply saddened’

A man died after a vehicle accident on the A483, police confirmed.

Joshua Jason Atkin, 26, from Saltney, died after an accident on the northbound carriageway between the Plas Coch and Coedpoeth junctions in Wrexham around 2:40 a.m. Sunday.

A statement from the North Wales Police (NWP) said: “The family of a man who died after a traffic collision in the early hours of this morning (Sunday), have said they are ‘deeply saddened’ by the death of his son.

“Joshua Jason Atkin, 26, was from the Saltney area. His family is being supported by specialist officers and they have asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.

“We are asking for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage in the area of ​​exit 5 of the A483 (Mold) at approximately 2.40 am this morning.”

The Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) and the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) attended the scene of the accident this morning.



Police stopped 2,500 cars in the region last week, a visitor from Wigan was sent packing after saying he wanted to visit the Talacre lighthouse.

Diversions were made while emergency services worked on site, and the road was fully reopened at 11.05 a.m.
