At least one arrest has been made after police uncovered an alleged plot to attack a polling place in Philadelphia.
US media report that police are investigating the alleged plot to attack the Pennsylvania Convention Center in the state’s largest city.
Police received a tip that a group, possibly a family, arrived from Virginia in a Hummer or Humvee to attack the polling place where the votes that could give Joe Biden an advantage in the key state are counted.
Police say they recovered a gun and believed they recovered the Hummer they received a tip from, reports 6abc.
No injuries have been reported.
There is no indication of what political persuasion the arrested man has; However, Donald Trump and Trump’s campaign representatives have tried to undermine the electoral process in Pennsylvania, as he appears to lean towards Democrat Joe Biden.
Security has been tightened around the convention center in response to the arrest on Thursday night (local time).
In Philadelphia, 358,644 absentee and mail ballots have so far been returned. 84 percent of them have been counted and 58,642 more need to be counted.

Tonight, former House Speaker and avowed Trump supporter Newt Gingrich outlined non-existent crimes for which Attorney General Bill Barr should send federal agents to arrest poll workers in Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania has 20 electoral votes and if it is for Joe Biden that would give him the 270 electoral votes required to be the next president of the United States.
On Election Day, Eric Trump and Rudy Guiliani visited Pennsylvania.
After coming to the state, Eric said, “This is outright fraud, we’ve seen it before in Philadelphia, they’re trying to make fun of this country’s elections.”
There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud anywhere in the US, which includes Pennsylvania.
He added: “The Democrats know that the only way they can win in this election is by cheating in Pennsylvania.
And we’ve seen it from day one. We find ballots in drainage ditches, they don’t let our election observers see the ballot boxes.
“There is video after video of them passing our collateral material at polling stations throughout Philadelphia.
“They are trying to cheat! They are trying to cheat! They have big 3×5 printed signs at polling places across the city saying to vote for Biden / Harris, which is totally illegal. “
Pennsylvania continues to count mail-in ballots, although Donald Trump still has a limited lead overall.
The Trump campaign has not presented concrete evidence of fraud in Pennsylvania or other parts of the state.
The count continued smoothly, as it has since Election Day. As of Thursday night, Philadelphia had counted nearly 286,000 mail-in ballots, nearly 80% of all ballots cast.
