Police were called in to break up a party in the student hallways just one day before Level 3 restrictions were applied in Nottinghamshire.
The 40 youths found on the Trinity Square flat in Nottingham city center now face fines of £ 200.
Officers attended the hallways of the residence shortly before 11:15 p.m. Wednesday (October 29) evening after details of the party were reportedly shared on social media.
Officers took the details of the 40 people present and now each faces a flat fine of £ 200.
Officers are still working to determine who organized the meeting, which took place in a vacant flat.
Once identified, they will face a £ 10,000 fine for hosting an internal meeting of more than 30 people.
A bag of cocaine and a public address system were seized from the property.
Nottinghamshire Police Deputy Police Chief Kate Meynell said: “As we have said time and again, the last thing we want to do as police officers is impose these fines, but we have a responsibility to enforce the law. and keep people safe.

“We take that responsibility very seriously and will continue to take action against people who voluntarily break the rules in this way. It is perfectly clear that these types of meetings are not allowed and there really is no excuse for what we saw last night.
“This pandemic is a serious risk to public health. Cases are increasing rapidly, and as a result, more people become seriously ill.
“We hope that people will follow and obey the law and we hope this latest incident will serve as a warning to others: that if you break the rules in this way, you will be caught and punished.”
The party is the latest in a series of similar incidents seen in Nottingham, including a one-day ‘ticketed’ event on Broad Street, as well as house parties in the Lenton area.
Since the county was placed in Level 2 on October 14, indoor domestic mixing has been banned and, under the new Level 3 restrictions, it has now been extended to private outdoor areas such as gardens.
