Piers Morgan tested negative for coronavirus after presenting symptoms over the weekend.
The 55-year-old former newspaper editor took a day off from Good Morning Britain as a “precaution” and managed to get tested for Covid-19.
Now he has retrieved the results and shared the update with his Twitter followers.
He published: “My COVID-19 test was negative. My doctor recommended that I be tested after developing possible symptoms of coronavirus, and I had the right to do it as a government-appointed essential worker.
“I will be back @GMB As soon as my doctor informs me that I’m fine to go back to work, “he added.
On Sunday, Piers told fans that he would have to step back from GMB after suffering mild symptoms and waiting for a test result.
He tweeted: “UPDATE: Out of medical advice, and out of precaution for a mild symptom that arose in the past 48 hours …
“I was tested for COVID-19 and I will not work on @GMB until I get the result, which should be tomorrow. ”
The springs did not enter the symptoms he had experienced, but revealed that he was on medical advice.
Her colleague Susanna Reid was forced to miss two weeks of GMB in March, after her son had a cough.
He soon returned, and Piers increased his appearance on the show to four days a week.
On this morning’s show, Pies was replaced by Ben Shephard, who introduced the show saying, “As you can see, I’m not Piers!”
“Yes, it is therapeutic,” Susanna joked.
Susanna added: “We send our best wishes and we will have our best behavior while he is not here.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Hilary Jones revealed that he spoke to Piers last night and revealed that he did not have many typical coronavirus symptoms, but was being cautious.
