When asked if they had invited two girls to their hotel, Southgate replied: “Nothing has happened in the areas we occupy at the hotel.
“We are still getting to the depths of the information. I am still familiarizing myself with the details, but what is clear is that there was a violation of Covid guidelines.
“We have spent so much time implementing the measures and the whole team has followed.
“We have had four tests since we were together and the staff have done an incredible job keeping it safe and strong.
“In that sense, we had no alternative to do what we are doing.
