Several police officers were seen running towards the station in the popular business district just after 5.30 pm when police vehicles pulled up outside.
Passengers traveling by subway were asked to leave the station while the incident unfolded.

Police vehicles stopped in front of Oxford Street Station on Sunday night as the event unfolded.
There were reports of an ongoing incident involving an adult man wearing a mask and without shoes.
The man was seen being escorted by police up the steps of the metro station. It is understood that he was detained before being transferred by ambulance.
Video footage shows the man being led by officers to the waiting vehicle.
Oxford Street Underground Station has since been reopened.
