Dominic Calvert-Lewin marked his England debut with a goal as Gareth Southgate’s team claimed victory in the friendly against Wales at Wembley.
The Everton-shaped forward rose to headline his 10th goal of the season after 26 minutes from Jack Grealish, putting up an impressive display until he was substituted just before the hour.
Standout Grealish was at the heart of England’s best work, committing the foul that led to England’s second goal eight minutes after the break. Kieran Trippier hit a perfect free kick that was delivered by an excited Conor Coady for his first international goal.
England were now in control against a Welsh team defending an eight-game unbeaten streak and Danny Ings, making his first start, showed excellent athleticism to add a third in the 63rd minute with a perfectly executed overhead kick after Tyrone Mings would have nodded a Kalvin Phillips Corner.

Wolves defender Conor Coady took the second with a shot that any of England’s forwards would have been very proud of, while Danny Ings added the third.
While this was an England B-team, with international debuts for Arsenal’s Calvert-Lewin and Bukayo Saka, Grealish had the most to prove.
