Scott McTominay and Luke Shaw are doubts for Manchester United’s game at Everton on Wednesday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer offered a diagnosis on the pair after his team’s win over Leeds at Old Trafford.
Shaw had been struggling before kickoff and was only given the go-ahead at the end of the day.
The left back was replaced at the hour by Alex Telles.
McTominay, for his part, who scored twice against the Whites, played the full 90 minutes but appears to have a groin problem, but the United manager is not sure how serious it is.
When asked if they were doubts, he replied: “Yes, I think so. Luke has been sick for a few days and only this morning got into shape. He did not train yesterday.
“Scott, it seemed like a groin problem. I do not know. Hopefully it won’t be long as he hasn’t had any muscle injuries before. But I don’t know how fast he will recover. “
United will play in front of the fans when they take on the Toffees at Goodison Park in the Carabao Cup.
Everton, who are tied on points with the Red Devils, are one of the few clubs that can receive a following due to their level 2.
United warmed up in the best way possible by scoring six on Sunday afternoon.
Their fast start saw them up 4-1 at halftime before adding two more in the second half.
Before their success against Leeds, the Red Devils had only won one of their six home games.
But the three points mean they are five points behind Liverpool with a game in hand, but Solskjaer has refused to let himself be tied for his title chances.
He said: “We are a work in progress. We are getting better, fit and stronger, but there are still some details to be worked out.”
“Let’s talk about the title later, the position in the league isn’t even something we’re looking at.”
