Nicola Sturgeon to announce new coronavirus levels for all council areas in Scotland
Nicola Sturgeon will confirm today the coronavirus levels that will apply to all thirty-two local authorities in Scotland.
The Scottish Cabinet will approve a plan to be announced by the Prime Minister at Holyrood.
Eleven local authorities, covering western and central Scotland, are at level four and Sturgeon confirmed yesterday that this would end on Friday.
She said: “We always said, and we said when we applied level four to these areas, that those authorities would come out of that level on Friday. And I can confirm that that is still the case. That will be the case. “
On the other areas, he declined to say whether they would go up or down: “We are also considering what changes, if any, should be made at the levels that apply in other areas. As always, our decisions will be based on the trajectory of the virus in each local authority, as well as the need to protect capacity in the NHS. “
