The Scottish government has extended a local blockade in the Greater Glasgow area as it tries to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
Around 1.75 million people living in Glasgow, East and West Dunbartonshire, North and South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire will be banned from having other people in their homes for at least another week.
The measure goes beyond the rule of six that came into effect yesterday in the rest of the country.
Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon urged people to follow the lead.
She said: “I would ask everyone in the affected areas to continue to be more vigilant, follow all instructions and isolate themselves and book a test if they have any symptoms.
“Don’t lose ground now.”
Sturgeon confirmed another 267 positive cases in the past 24 hours. It was announced the day before that 70 people tested positive, but there is concern that a lab backlog is affecting the numbers.
