Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed that new blocking restrictions will be announced this week.
The Prime Minister said discussions between health experts and the Scottish government on how these rules will take.
Sturgeon will speak to Boris Johnson by phone this afternoon as Holyrood and Westminster weigh what options to take.
Several areas already have restrictions on social gatherings, however, it is believed that more measures could be announced later this week.
It occurs when 245 cases were confirmed during the last 24-hour period with no new deaths.
Deaths from a positive case remain at 2,505, while the total number of confirmed cases in Scotland rose to 24,371.
On Saturday, 350 positive cases were identified, which was the largest daily increase in four months.
The transmission rate in Scotland, or R number, is now believed to be between 1.1 and 1.4.
