The Prime Minister has been photographed chatting with retirees in a pub without covering her face, in violation of her own laws on coronavirus.

Nicola Sturgeon was photographed talking to three elderly women without a mask at a funeral at the Stable Bar and Restaurant in Mortonhall, Edinburgh, last Friday.

Sturgeon was attending the funeral of a senior civil servant where he claims he removed his mask “briefly”.

Since then, the SNP leader has apologized for the “stupid mistake” for which she is reportedly “kicking herself.”

In a statement, Sturgeon said: “Last Friday, while attending a funeral, I removed my mask briefly. It was a stupid mistake and I am so sorry.”

It comes as the Scots were warned that even tighter lockdown restrictions will be considered to crush the new mutant version of the coronavirus.

The prime minister said that the tension is spreading much faster and that the Scottish government will have to analyze whether the level 4 restrictions are sufficient.

He added that the virus is spreading “much faster” now than it was in March, saying: “We must consider whether the current level 4 restrictions will be sufficient to suppress it.”

Sturgeon will make his last coronavirus update before Christmas in First Minister’s Questions at 12:20 pm today.
