The Health Department has reported eight other coronavirus-related deaths.
According to the latest update, six of the deaths are said to have occurred within the current reporting period, with the other two deaths occurring outside of the current 24-hour period.
The death toll in Northern Ireland now stands at 1,143, according to the DoH.
Thursday’s dashboard update reports another 510 positive cases of the virus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 59,631 since the start of the pandemic.
Over the past seven days, the Department says 3,326 people tested positive in Northern Ireland.
There are currently 457 confirmed Covid-19 patients in the hospital and 32 in intensive care.
Meanwhile, easing of coronavirus restrictions for Christmas is understood to continue in Northern Ireland.
Plans to allow families and friends to mingle over Christmas will go ahead, but there will be stronger warnings about the risks of spreading the coronavirus.
Concerns have been raised that relaxing restrictions to allow households to mingle will cause the NHS to be overwhelmed.
Talks between the UK government and decentralized administration leaders are understood to have supported the planned relaxation of restrictions despite warnings from medical experts about the dangers.
Prime Minister Arlene Foster and Deputy Prime Minister Michelle O’Neill were on the call and while both are understood to have concerns about the current situation in Northern Ireland, there was broad agreement that there should be no changes to the regulations.
