Annoying Celtic boss Neil Lennon blasted during a television interview when asked if he still retains the full backing of the Parkhead board.
The Irishman insists he can turn it around, but the pressure mounts in the wake of Thursday’s miserable 4-1 defeat at the hands of Sparta Prague.
Lennon revealed during his pre-game briefing before traveling to the Czech capital that he still retains the support of CEO Peter Lawwell and the board, but a similar line of investigation after the game was quickly brought down.
Rory Hamilton wanted to know if anything had changed in the wake of the latest regrettable result, but the BT Sport host quickly fell silent.
Lennon said, “I don’t know why you ask me that when we played it yesterday.
“I don’t see any reason why one game and one day would change that.”
Hamilton’s follow-up on whether the humiliation in Prague also gained little attention from the 49-year-old.
“No,” was the reply as the Celtic boss looked visibly frustrated with the line of questions.
The Hoops boss is convinced he is the man to turn things around despite his team being knocked out of the Europa League with two group games to spare.
He said, “Of course I do. I know this group better than anyone.
“Look, at the end of last year we lost to the Rangers and they all ruled us out.
“They were massacring each and every one of us, whether it was our own followers or everyone else, so we’ve been here before.”
