POTNASA and SpaceX is teaming up to launch a rocket that takes two astronauts into space.
This is the first time since 2011 that a rocket carrying people into space has taken off from American soil.
The Demo-2 mission will take off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on May 27.
Your goal is to transport two astronauts to the International Space Station.
Since 2011, NASA has relied on Russia, Japan, and Europe to help transport astronauts and supplies to and from space.
SpaceX is a private space company owned by billionaire Elon Musk who wants to make transporting things into space cheaper, and one day wants to take space tourism trips to orbit and the Moon.
POTThe two astronauts, Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley, will fly in SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, using a Falcon 9 rocket to take off.
Both elements have been rigorously tested over the years to make sure they are mission ready.
Robert and Douglas will also be wearing some cool new space suits.
This mission will help researchers gather important information for future explorations, such as the next one. Artemis Mission, which aims to put the first woman and the next man on the Moon by 2024.
