A mother and daughter were found dead after a fire at their home in Lancashire, police said.

Officers were called to a home in Reedley, near Burnley, at 8:45 a.m. on October 1, where they found two bodies. Lancashire The police said.

There was also evidence of fire and smoke damage inside the home, the force added.

Although they have not been formally identified, the two dead are believed to be the mother and daughter, Dr. Saman Mir Sacharvi, 49, and Vian Mangrio, 14, a student at Marsden Heights School, who lived together in home.

Both deaths are being treated as unexplained and autopsies will be carried out in due course, the force added.

Superintendent Jon Holmes, Lancashire Major Crimes Command Chief, said: “These are tragic circumstances and my thoughts are very much with the loved ones of Dr. Sacharvi and Miss Mangrio at this time.

“We remain in the relatively early stages of what is a major investigation with a dedicated team of detectives and staff following a series of lines of investigation to piece together what has happened.

“At this time, it is too early to say what caused the deaths of Dr. Sacharvi and Ms. Mangrio and we are keeping an open mind.

“I would appeal to anyone who has information or who has seen something suspicious in or around the address to contact us.

“Even if you think the information you have may be insignificant, please come talk to us and let us be the judge.”
