While Tommy appeared not to cover his nose and mouth during the seaplane ride, in one of the first clips of the video, Molly-Mae purposely uncovered his face to pose with her boyfriend.

After pulling down her mask to pout, the blonde beauty kept it hooked under her chin and smiled at the camera as she created a heart shape with her hand linked to Tommy’s.

According to senior tour operators Kuoni, in the Maldives: “All tourists must wear face masks at the airport and during domestic travel (including on seaplanes and speedboats).”

Fans weren’t impressed with the Love Island couple, with one viewer commented, ‘I love you all, but wear your masks over your nose during flights and interactions with others!’

The Love Island contestants were called ‘privileged’ by their fans for not wearing a mask or using it incorrectly in public spaces such as a restaurant, plane and taxi during the trip.

Some viewers of her vlog in Dubai suggested the viewing was “awkward” as the couple decided to circumvent coronavirus restrictions while enjoying their sun-soaked getaway.

The video began with Molly-Mae and Tommy on the plane to Dubai in their first-class seats, while the influencer removed her mask under her chin to speak to the camera.

The video shared an intimate glimpse of their luxurious journey, however, it also showed fans that they were wrong when it came to following local rules.

Current restrictions in Dubai state that everyone must wear a face covering while in public spaces once they are outside their private residence.

Exceptions include being alone, during vigorous exercise, and while eating or drinking indoors or out.

During the video, Molly-Mae and Tommy were also filmed without a mask while riding in a taxi, leaving a restaurant, and inside an ice cream parlor.
