Moira Road accident kills teenager after vehicle collides with cow

A teenager died after his car ran off the road when it collided with a cow in Co Antrim.

The victim of the tragic incident has been named by police as Josh Fletcher, 18, from the Moira area.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Moira Road, Lisburn in the early hours of this morning, October 18.

PSNI Sergeant Jonny Mackenzie said: “Josh was the driver of a car that ran off the road after colliding with a cow around 3 am Sunday morning and sadly died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

“We are currently conducting a series of follow-up investigations into the collision and the road remains closed at this time with detours in place.

“Josh was traveling in the direction of Moira, between the junctions with Bushfield Road and Moyrusk Road when the collision occurred, and would ask anyone who traveled this stretch of road prior to the collision to contact the police. any information or dash cam footage they may have.
