Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that midfielder Mesut Ozil will have a hard time getting on his “evolving” side.
The Gunners coach saw his team beat Leicester 2-0 on their way to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
It means that the north London side have achieved four wins out of four in all competitions, but they have done it without Ozil, who makes more money.
The £ 350,000-a-week midfielder has been on the sidelines for Arteta, not playing a minute of football for the side since blocking.
And the coach has issued a waiver to the German, suggesting that his challenge of returning to the team will become more difficult.

Speaking after the club’s 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Leicester, the manager said: “The team is evolving and you can see the level they are achieving.
“We want to evolve more and play better, so we must maintain that.
“I try to select the players who, in my opinion, are in the best condition. We are choosing players who we think are the best for each game and, as you can see, we keep changing.

“You can see … that it is very difficult, not only for Mesut, but for some, to be part of the team. Every week, we try to choose the right players.”
Ozil has been linked to a departure from the club throughout the summer amid rumors the club is interested in Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
But Arteta did not reveal anything about the 31-year-old, adding: “It is difficult for others who were not involved in the Premier League.

“I get it [the questions] but I have to do my job as directly as possible. I select the players in the best conditions. “
It comes as fans were impressed with Ozil’s abilities in the latest training footage that emerged from London Colney, but the manager gave an evasive response.
