Michael Owen hopes Paris Saint Germain is too hot for Manchester United.
The Red Devils return to action in Europe’s elite club competition on Tuesday night when they travel to Paris.
However, they face a tough test against last season’s runner-up and Owen predicts a 2-1 loss for his former club.
BetVictor brand ambassador said: “Manchester United were flattered to cheat with their 4-1 win at Newcastle on Saturday night. However, they face a much tougher test in Paris.
“With players like Neymar and Mbappé, I think they may have too much for United.
“I think the finalists from last year will win with the goals of both teams.”
Chelsea are also in action as they host Europa League champions Sevilla at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues come into this having given up a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Southampton at the weekend, but Owen hopes they will be left 2-1 winless against their Spanish opponents.
“I’m hoping that goals are back on the menu here,” he said.
“Sevilla lost to Granada at the weekend, so it’s fair to say they both need a result.
“Timo Werner finally found the net on Saturday, and if he’s in the mood again, he could see Chelsea surpass him.”
Liverpool head to Amsterdam without Virgil van Dijk, but Kop’s former striker predicts they will win by the same score against Ajax.
He said: “This should be crazy. Liverpool were unlucky not to snatch the points on Saturday, and while I think it will be close, I can see that the Reds have too much firepower for the hosts.”
In the meantime, Owen hopes that Manchester City will lead Porto to the cleanup, adding: “The citizens have high hopes of winning their first Champions League trophy and will be looking for nothing less than maximum points here.
“Porto may have improved during the final season, but I don’t see anything other than a victory for City.”
