The Met Office has said a big change in the weather is coming, with temperatures dropping as low as 10 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
The Exeter-based national meteorologist says we will see a lot more wind and rain and it will feel a lot cooler too.
Meteorological Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: “Big changes with UK weather this week – we are going to move from late summer weather to much more autumnal conditions.
“We lose the heat and it becomes much cooler, and we will see a mixture of rain and showers from the second half of the week.”
“Also, by the weekend, some places could experience their first frosts of the season.
“It all has to do with the jet stream, which is often the case.
“The jet stream at the moment is well north of the UK, pushing low pressure areas away from the British Isles, leaving us with a high pressure ridge and lots of warm sunshine and temperatures typically in the 20s.
“On Thursday, we are going to see a significant change, with several areas of low pressure near the UK and temperatures 10 degrees lower, with the jet stream leading to the south of the country.”
