The Met Office has warned of heavy downpours and gusts of wind tonight in Devon and Cornwall.

Drivers are told that the “sudden onset of severe weather” can make driving conditions difficult on the roads.

In a tweet, the Met Office warned: “This ‘active cold front’ will bring downpours and very gusty winds tonight in Wales and south-west England. The sudden onset of intense weather will make road conditions difficult.”

This comes after numerous reports that England is going through an ‘Indian summer’ which the Met Office deemed ‘lazy’.

The UK has experienced higher temperatures than usual for this time of year with highs of 18 ° C.

However, weather conditions will change tonight, as heavy rain and wind will hit the region.
