The Welsh Meteorological Office issued an amber wind weather advisory on Boxing Day when Storm Bella hits the country.
The weather agency has already issued a yellow weather alert for wind across the country for Saturday and Sunday.
The amber wind warning is in place for the south coast of England and South Wales.
The drastic weather has resulted in the Weather Bureau calling it Storm Bella with gusts of wings between 60 and 70 mph in some places.
A statement from the Met Office said: “After a relatively calm and cold day on Christmas Day, conditions in the UK will become increasingly unstable through Saturday 26 December and 27 December with increasing winds. heavy and heavy rains from the north. “
Deputy Chief Meteorologist Tony Wardle said: “Conditions will become very unstable after Christmas Day, with a large area of low pressure stretching across the UK since Boxing Day. Very strong winds will affect much of England and Wales, with particularly strong gusts off the south-west facing coasts.
“Heavy rains will also move from the north, with heavy showers during the afternoon in Scotland and Northern Ireland moving south through England and Wales during the night. This will be a noticeable change from the calmer conditions over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so be very careful and stay up to date with the latest forecast. “

The new weather warning for wind is in effect from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday 26 to 09:00 a.m. on Sunday 27.
The disturbing weather will affect parts of the south and south-east of England and south Wales.
Conditions are expected to be more established on Christmas Day.
“Storm Bella will bring disruptions to travel and public services in parts of South and South East England and South Wales,” warns the Met Office.
The weather agency said it expects longer travel times and travel service cancellations, as some roads and bridges are likely to close.
He also warned of damage to buildings such as blown roof tiles.
“Injury and danger to life is likely to occur from the launching of large waves and beach material on coastal roads, sea fronts and properties.
“There is a good possibility of power outages, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.”
Areas likely to be affected include Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Pembrokeshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, and the Vale of Glamorgan.
The warning comes when several houses and properties in South Wales were affected by flooding less than 48 hours before Christmas Day.
