Mauricio Pochettino’s stance on Arsenal management as fans choose Mikel Arteta’s replacement

Some Arsenal fans might be disappointed with the possibility of Mauricio Pochettino replacing Mikel Arteta.

The pressure on the Gunners manager is mounting following Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Burnley at the Emirates Stadium, their fourth consecutive home defeat in the Premier League.

As a result, Arteta is now the bookmaker’s favorite to be the first Premier League manager to lose his job this season.

At 3pm on Sunday, the Spaniard was on 8/1 to lose his job at Emirates Stadium, and following Burnley’s loss, those odds are down.

Like a year ago when Unai Emery was fired, any decision to relieve Arteta of his duties would be made by the club’s board and owner Stan Kroenke.

And judging by some of the responses on social media, there is an Arsenal fan section that believes the Spaniard should be fired, just four months after leading the team to FA Cup success.

Despite CEO Vinai Venkatesham recently giving Arteta the public’s vote of confidence, some Gunners fans have already chosen his replacement.

The popular option, although on Twitter, is Mauricio Pochettino.

Out of work since leaving Tottenham Hotspur more than a year ago, the Argentine remains a free agent and several Arsenal fans are eager for him to replace Arteta.

Despite calls from some fans to replace Arteta, Pochettino has previously said that he would never manage Arsenal due to his strong ties to Tottenham.

“I would never coach Barcelona or Arsenal because I am linked to Tottenham. I grew up in Newell’s and would never coach Rosario Central,” he has said previously.

“This is my decision. I would rather work on my farm in Argentina than go to work in certain places.”
