Marcus Rashford appears to have given his stamp of approval to Manchester United’s impending transfer capture of midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek will be confirmed as United’s first signing of the summer in the coming days after a £ 40 million deal was agreed with Ajax.
The 23-year-old, who starred in the Dutch club’s run to the semi-finals of the Champions League last year, has reached a five-year deal with the option of 12 more months.
And Rashford is clearly happy with the situation after he “liked” a tweet in which journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that the Red Devils were confident of getting Van de Beek.
The England forward isn’t the only United player ready to host Van de Beek at Old Trafford, as the January signing of midfielder Bruno Fernandes also liked an Instagram post breaking the news.
United have beaten some of the best clubs in Europe to land Van de Beek, and Real Madrid and Barcelona have taken an interest in the midfielder.
The Dutch international, who has scored 41 goals and provided 34 assists in 175 games for Ajax, looked destined for Madrid earlier this summer when the Spanish champions agreed to a £ 44.6 million fee.
But the deal collapsed when the coronavirus crisis hit.
Barcelona’s new manager, Ronald Koeman, had also indicated that he wanted to take the midfielder to Camp Nou, but the Catalan club is in crisis after Lionel Messi announced that he wants to leave.

Van de Beek told his friends in Amsterdam that coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s determination to sign him was the key factor in his decision.
He was impressed with the vision the United manager gave him of the direction the Red Devils are taking after finishing third last season to seal their return to the Champions League.
Van de Beek declined to play in Ajax’s friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday after learning that United were preparing to reaffirm their interest with an official offer.
