Manchester United player ratings: Fred and Luke Shaw good vs Man City – Samuel Luckhurst

[ad_1]

David De Gea

He made a solid save from Riyad Mahrez in a more confident stance than midweek. Otherwise absolutely no hassle. 6

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Not so tight against Raheem Sterling and was caught by Gabriel Jesus. Wasteful in the last third. 6

Victor lindelof

He selected Bruno Fernandes with a perceptual pass, but often found himself chasing an opponent towards his own goal. 6

Harry maguire

He had a scare when Jesús dispossessed him but dominated most of his matches with Sergio Agüero absent. 6

Luke shaw

Slick with the ball from open play and offered a threat with his corner kick. He got along well with the agile Ferran Torres after his arrival. 8

Scott McTominay

Disciplined to protect the four behind and not shy about directing attackers every time United pressed. 6

Fred

He reiterated why he is inescapable in United’s midfield. His passes were test and Fred balanced United with Paul Pogba back. 8

Paul pogba

He had some decent moments despite carelessly giving up possession at times. He found Rashford superbly for a shot in the second half. 6

Bruno fernandes

He pushed hard and had some scoring opportunities that he missed. Very ineffective in the second half. 6

Marcus rashford

He didn’t do enough in the first half but won a penalty in the second that was disallowed. He turned down a reasonable opening of Pogba’s pass. 5

Mason Greenwood

Peripheral for most of the first half and naive in the moments in which he got the ball. I never got going in the second and I was lucky to stay that long. 5

Subs

Anthony Martial

It had no impact. 4

Manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

His tactics were innovative and the midfield balanced with Fred back inside. Too delaying to make a change in the second half or change it more. 6
