Ederson: He had little to do but get the ball out of his net. Blaming him for the goal would seem unfair given the distance and how good Antonio was. 6
Walker: Another consistent and excellent performance. When he wasn’t pushing down the right flank or striking back to stop a counterattack, he was organizing the rest of the defense strongly and clearly. 7
Days: Surpassed and beaten by Antonio for the goal. He went like a ghost in the opposition area but strangely with his chest instead of heading the ball and the opportunity was lost. 5
Garcia: West Ham have fast forwards and deliberately targeted a lack of pace at the rear. Throw in some unusual mistakes and it was a rough afternoon for the youngster. 5
Cancel: He enjoyed roaming the left wing and played an essential role in the tie. He’s still incredibly right-handed, and West Ham used that to their advantage, but even better than Wednesday. 7
Rodri: His lack of pace did not help City’s efforts to avoid getting stuck at half-time, but he appears to be improving in recovery situations. 6
Gundogan: He was lucky not to get booked after half an hour for a cheeky shirt-tug to stop a counter, and it was a surprise to see him outlast Bernardo. 5
Bernard: It still seemed to cover more ground than most, however it was one of several that seemed to have less in its tank than it normally does. 6
Mahrez: Constantly cutting in doesn’t work when the opposition is packing their box. She needed something smart to beat her man and create something and she never did. 5
Pound sterling: Quiet again from Sterling, although he did cheer up when he went on the attack after the replacement of Agüero. His connection with Foden is good. I lost a good chance at the end of winning it. 5
Omen: He huffed, huffed, did some smart runs to find space where others didn’t, but he didn’t come close to finding the net. The performance of someone who has been injured for a long time and then played three times in a week 5
Substitutes
Foden (for Agüero, 46). A revolutionary replacement. Brilliant from the start, he scored the tying goal and showed that he must play more after this. 8
De Bruyne (for Bernardo, 68) There were signs that the radar was resetting and it tested Fabianski from a free kick but was unable to save the day. 7
Zinchenko (for Walker, 78): His presentation allowed Cancelo to switch to the right, but it was a less offensive switch than Torres would have been.
Not used: Steffen, Stones, Torres, Palmer
