A man was shot down and killed in an accident in Tuebrook as police continue to block the road where it happened.
Emergency services were called to Lisburn Lane shortly before 7 pm to report that a pedestrian had been hit by a Ford Fiesta.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, but died shortly afterward.
A large police scene was set up around the area of the tragic accident when officers called for witnesses.
The man has not yet been formally identified and police are working to inform his relatives.
According to officers, the driver of the Ford Fiesta stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their investigations.

Photographs taken at the scene show a cordon on Lisburn Lane and several police vehicles parked around the area.
Highway police officers could also be seen working inside the cordon while forensics captured images of the crash site.
In a statement, a Merseyside police spokesman said: “We are requesting information following a fatal traffic collision in Tuebrook tonight, Tuesday December 1.
“Shortly before 7 pm, officers were called to Lisburn Lane following reports of a collision involving a Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian.
“The emergency services came and the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to the hospital where, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
“The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting with the investigations.
“Officers are working to formally identify the man and inform his relatives.
“The road closures remain in place and anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to come forward.”
Chief Inspector Col Rooney said: “Tragically, a man lost his life following a traffic collision in Tuebrook tonight, and an investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances.
