A murder suspect was arrested after a teenager named locally as Nyle Corrigan, 19, was shot and killed in a “cold-blooded” street execution.

Emergency services were called to Boode Croft’s cul-de-sac in Stockbridge Village around 6.30 p.m. Thursday.

Nyle was found injured on the ground and, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, sadly died shortly thereafter.

Merseyside police launched a murder investigation. His family has been informed.

Inspector Tony O’Brien said: “This was a cold-blooded attack on a residential street.”
