A section of a busy highway was closed after emergency services responded to an accident involving two cars.
Fire crews were called to the intersection of Childwall Road and Church Road in Wavertree around 8.25pm tonight (Monday) following reports of a car accident. Police and ambulance also attended.
Both vehicles involved in the accident were on four wheels when crews arrived. A person was trapped inside one of the cars.
Firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle to free the person. They are currently being evaluated by North West Ambulance Service.
No further information was available on the injuries.
Photographs from the scene showed that a section of the road was closed while emergency workers protected the scene.
