Around a dozen Metropolitan Police officers are believed to have descended on a Westminster park.
According to witnesses on social media, the police activity is focused on Westbourne Green Open Space, a popular park in the area, this afternoon (Sunday, September 20).
There are reports that the police have blocked the entrances to the park and a helicopter is circling the area.
On Twitter, one user wrote: “At least a dozen cops there and all entrances blocked.”
Westbourne Green Open Space is Royal Oak Tube Station and Paddington Station.
Shortly before 2 p.m., the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a woman was found with knife wounds, which they believe may have been self-inflicted. They are not treating the incident as suspicious.
