There are reports of several crashes on the main roads in Devon and Cornwall, as well as long delays due to heavy traffic.
Drivers are warned about travel time of up to 40 minutes as traffic increases on the region’s highways.
The A30, A38 and A3075 are reported to have “slow traffic” in the area.
At 1.08pm, it was reported that the police were heading for an accident on the M5 at the J23 heading north from the A39 to the A38 at Bristol Road.
There are also collisions on the A30 near Temple and the A39 at Bodieve, both in Cornwall.
The traffic and travel monitoring system, Inrix, reports that the A30 at Four Burrows in Cornwall, the A30 at Pathfinder Village in Devon and the A30 at Honiton, near the A35, have delays.
There is also slow traffic on the A38 eastbound and slow traffic on the A3075 in Newquay.
Inrix reports: “Very slow traffic on A30 eastbound from B3284 ( Perranporth Turn Off, Four Burrows) towards A39 (Carland Cross, Carland Cross). Travel time is about 40 minutes.
“Very slow traffic on the A30 eastbound from the A30 (Fingle Glen, Pathfinder Village) to the A377 (Alphington Junction, Exeter). Travel time is about 30 minutes.
“Slow traffic on the A30 eastbound from the A35 ( Honiton ) to Hedgend Road (Monkton). Travel time is about 10 minutes.
“Slow traffic on A38 Tamar Bridge eastbound from A38 ( Saltash Tunnel, Saltmill) to Pemros Road (Plymouth). Travel time is about 10 minutes.
“Slow traffic on A3075 Newquay Highway eastbound from Highway ( Perranzabuloe ) to A3075 / Bridge Road ( Goonhavern ). Travel time is about 10 minutes. “
