Traffic on the M1 was stopped due to a “serious collision” on Saturday morning.
Highways England said the accident occurred northbound on the motorway between exits 27 (A608 / Mansfield) and 28 (A38 Derby / Matlock).

In a tweet at 9.50am on Saturday 7th November, Highways England said: “Traffic was temporarily stopped due to a serious collision.
“Traffic officers are currently on the scene, the East Midlands Ambulance Service, the Derbyshire Roads Police Unit and the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service are on their way.
“The northbound M1 between J27 and J28 will remain closed while we deal with a serious RTC. Avoid the area if you plan to use this route. We are implementing detours.”
Since then, the road has reopened after being closed for about three hours.
There were 30-minute delays in the approach to this incident from the M1 that spanned two and a half miles back to exit J27. Average speed approaching the incident was 30 mph.
