Louis Saha says Edinson Cavani will be a ‘top signing’ for Manchester United, with the forward set to move to Old Trafford on a two-year deal.
The 33-year-old free agent is reportedly flying to Manchester on Sunday for his medical attention, while personal terms are said to have already been agreed.
Cavani left Paris Saint-Germain in June after seven years with the Ligue 1 squad, in which he scored a club-record 200 goals in 301 appearances.
Former United striker Saha believes the prolific Cavani will inspire the Red Devils and is excited about the prospect of the Uruguayan moving to Old Trafford.
‘I thought Christmas was December,’ Saha wrote in a post on her Twitter page. ‘Cavani is a first-rate signing.
‘Scorer and great source of energy inspiration. Man Utd He will dominate the transition because of his pace of work. ‘
Speaking on the Football Index podcast last month, Saha urged his former team to sign Cavani, and the former France international may now have his wish fulfilled.
“For me, Cavani would be the best option this summer,” Saha said. “Cavani has a great eye for goal and his leadership would be a great advantage.
“He has qualities that are very difficult to find in the transfer market.”
