Lorraine Kelly was able to give an update on Derek, the husband of Kate Garraway, on Good Morning Britain today.

Derek was admitted to intensive care and has been on a ventilator for the past month after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

The 45-year-old man thanked Kate as he replaced Piers Morgan on today’s ITV show.

He said, “I want to say happy birthday to Kate, who is turning 40-13 today.”

Susanna Reid added: “It doesn’t seem to be more than 25 days old.”

Ben joked, “No, after a lot of makeup.”

Piers Morgan was replaced by Ben on Good Morning Britain today.

Ben replaced Piers today at GMB after the host was forced to withdraw from the show after showing some coronavirus symptoms.

Introducing the show today, Ben announced, “As you can see, I’m not Piers!”

“Yes, it’s therapeutic,” Susanna Reid joked, before reading Piers’ tweet last night.

He had written: “UPDATE: Out of medical advice, and out of precaution for a mild symptom that arose in the past 48 hours, I tested for COVID-19 and will not work on @GMB until I get the result back, which should be morning “.

Susanna added: “We send our best wishes and we will have our best behavior while he is not here.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Hilary Jones revealed that Piers had spoken to him last night and that the co-host did not have many symptoms that were atypical of coronavirus, but was being cautious.
