Three men were arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was reported missing last week in Exeter.

Lorraine Cox, 32, of Exeter, Devon, was last seen in the early hours of September 1 in the city center.

Police said they had treated Ms Cox as a missing person, but have now launched a murder investigation after a “significant event”.

Three men, ages 22, 30 and 33, were arrested in the past 36 hours, police said and remain in custody.

Ms. Cox’s family members have been informed.

Specialist officers are conducting extensive searches in and around Mary Arches Street, where a cordon remains, Devon and Cornwall police added.

“We would like to hear from anyone who thinks they have seen or heard from Lorraine since September 1 as a matter of urgency,” said Det Ch Insp Lee Nattrass.
