The Mayor’s Office of Police and Crime (Mopac) is working to address the known crime crisis in the capital.
He issued a statement outlining the mayor’s strategy to “make London safer for young people.”
The statement read: “Every time a young Londoner dies as a result of a violent crime, it is utterly heartbreaking and leaves families and communities devastated.”
“The causes of violent crime are extremely complex and involve deep-seated problems, such as inequality, poverty, social alienation and lack of opportunities for young people.
“These problems have been made much worse by government cuts over the past decade to police and preventive services, such as youth centers, municipal services and charities, as well as the growing market for illegal drugs.”
