Alisson becker 6

Little to do in the first half other than get the ball out of the net and almost caught after Kane’s break after a loose pass.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 8

Good coverage prevented chances for Bergwijn and Kane and a real danger with their delivery. Much, much improved after his disappointing performance at Fulham.

Rhys Williams 7

Lots of touches early on to calm the nerves and a fine cross pass started moving for the starter. He began to find life more difficult after the break, but kept his focus.

Fabinho 7

Maintain influence in the central defender and help suppress Kane. He missed a header when Bergwijn hit the post, but was thrilled with a deft passing play in the second half.

Andy Robertson 8

Regular threat when overlapping on the left while sounding defensive before the break. Whipped in the corner for the winner.

Jordan Henderson 8

He incited Liverpool and set the pace while offering protection to the four behind. More defensive efforts in the second half as Tottenham became more adventurous.

Gini Wijnaldum 8

He conducted affairs during the first half as Liverpool dominated possession and territory. He responded well to more demanding matters after the break.

Curtis Jones 9

His hard-hitting career paved the way for the first goal with his willingness to keep going required against a packed defense. So composed. Excellent again.

Mohamed Salah 7

Encouraged by the right, he forced a save from Lloris and scored the deflected starter. Regularly threatened, but some crosses were attacked with hope rather than expectation.

Roberto Firmino 8

He played on the point and caused problems by returning to midfield. Twice he tested Lloris in the first half and continued to find spaces and use the ball well. Bright header for the winner.

Sadio mane 7

He pressured the Tottenham defense at every opportunity and between them to force a save from Lloris. He hit the bar after turning Aurier for the umpteenth time.
