Liverpool star Sadio Mane ‘open’ to Barcelona transfer and Ronald Koeman reunion

Liverpool striker Sadio Mane is reportedly keen to move to Barcelona and meet his former Southampton manager Ronald Koeman.

Mane has established himself as one of the best attackers in the world, having played a pivotal role in the Reds’ victory in the Champions League and Premier League in the past two seasons.

But, according to Spanish media Mundo Deportivo, he feels that a move to Camp Nou would help him win individual honors.

Mane is also allegedly upset by his perception that his teammates Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah get more applause than he does for Liverpool’s success.

The Senegalese sacked 18 goals last season to help the Reds clinch a first title win in 30 years, and it wouldn’t be cheap.

Barca reportedly acknowledge that they would need to part with around £ 107 million for the 28-year-old, a sum they are unlikely to be able to pay after recent huge outlays on Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann and Philippe Coutinho.

But the Blaugrana will be in the market for a forward with Luis Suárez ready to leave the club after Koeman informed him that he is free to look elsewhere for opportunities.

Lionel Messi has also made his intentions clear to the Catalan giants that he wants to leave after his 8-2 humiliation against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Manchester City remains their most likely destination, with Italian duo Inter Milan and Juventus also monitoring the situation.

Paris Saint-Germain would appear to be the only other realistic destination in Europe, with Messi’s close friend and former Barca teammate Neymar eager to reunite in the French capital.
