Good evening Liverpool fans. Here are the headlines from the night of Tuesday, September 1.
Liverpool’s new CEO reveals ‘immediate priority’
Billy Hogan has revealed that his first assignment as Liverpool’s new chief executive is to bring fans back to Anfield.
Hogan inherited the role of Peter Moore on Tuesday after the 65-year-old chose to return to the United States with his wife, Debbie.
Hogan previously served as Liverpool’s commercial director and helped drive growth off the field after joining the club in 2012.
In his first interview with the Liverpool club’s website, Hogan said that his main goal is to get fans back to the stadium.
“Well, clearly the immediate priority we’re all focused on is how to bring our fans back to Anfield.
“The uncertainty of the current situation with the pandemic is obviously incredibly challenging, both from a business perspective, for all companies around the world, but clearly for us as a club.
“So we are working hard right now. Obviously we have to be guided by the government and work together with all the clubs in the Premier League, so there is a lot of work behind the scenes in terms of how it is going to work.
“And I suppose that on top of that, we really should consider continuing to operate the business as we have.”

Van Dijk explains the call with Barcelona coach Koeman
Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk revealed that he spoke with Barcelona’s new manager Ronald Koeman last month.
The Reds defender explained that Koeman’s call was to confirm his departure from his position as coach of the Dutch national team before occupying the highest position at the Camp Nou.
And the 29-year-old confirmed his disappointment at Koeman’s departure.
“We are all disappointed to see a coach from such a great team leave, but we give it to him with all our heart,” he said. “You can ask each player on the squad piece by piece, everyone will have that feeling. This was his big dream.
“This time in which we live, the time of the crown with all the uncertainty that it entails, the European Championship that will not be played one hundred percent with certainty, if such an opportunity comes, I can understand it.”
“No one expected it to have happened so fast, but we are very happy for it. Now we have to move on. “
Thiago, Wijnaldum, Traore and their transfer questions answered
There are still five weeks left in the transfer window and Liverpool have largely chosen to keep the powder dry.
The club signed Greek defender Kostas Tsimikas at £ 11 million as a backup option for Andy Robertson, but that’s all the first team business done so far.
It has left Reds fans curious about what could still happen between now and the end of the window.
